Clinical Research

Here at PENS we are very interested in continuing to provide the most advanced and comprehensive care for children with special needs.  Our research department has conducted more than 50 clinical trials, most of which have provided essential information leading to the FDA approval of the most recent treatments for conditions such as treatment resistant epilepsy, headache, ADHD, and Tourette's Syndrome in children and adolescents.

We have ongoing studies in these areas, including CBD and other new treatments, which are only available under protocols that are approved by the FDA and Institutional Review Boards. If your child has any of these conditions and continues to be inadequately controlled, we are available to provide evaluation for possible participation in a controlled clinical trial.

Below you will find a list of the current research studies we are conducting, as well as links to specific information about the studies. For additional information, please contact the research department at (813) 873-7367 Ext. 210.

  • Childhood Absence Epilepsy or Juvenile Absence Epilepsy (2-25 years)
  • Epilepsy (1 month - less than 18 years)
  • Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome (Children and Adults)
  • Tourette’s Disorder (Children and Adults)
