José A. Ferreira, MD

Dr. Ferreira completed his internship and residency in pediatrics at the University of Connecticut and Yale University affiliated hospitals. Dr. Ferreira then moved on to complete his adult neurology training at Long Island Jewish Hospital and his pediatric neurology training at Schneider Children’s Hospital. He also completed a fellowship in epilepsy and electroencephalography at the University of Miami School of Medicine.

Dr. Ferreira began his clinical research during his adult neurology residency, where he participated in a protocol involving a new treatment for stroke. While at the University of Miami, he started participating in clinical trials for antiepileptic treatments, including new medications and vagal nerve stimulator. To date, Dr. Ferreira has been principal investigator in over 60 multicenter clinical trials in the areas of epilepsy, migraine and neurobehavioral disorders in infants, children and adolescents. His participation in these multicenter research studies has provided significant information necessary for the FDA approval of more than 12 medications for treatment in these areas.

Since moving to the Tampa Bay area, Dr. Ferreira has been active in the community and has played a role as consultant to Children’s Medical Services (CMS); associate adjunct professor at the University of South Florida (USF) School of Medicine; Chief of Pediatric Neurology at St. Joseph’s Children's Hospital; attending physician at Tampa General Hospital (TGH); and as a member of the comprehensive epilepsy center at TGH/USF. His practice has always been actively involved not only in teaching medical students, residents and nurse practitioners, but also medical assistants and electrodiagnostics students from local schools. He continues to enjoy teaching through didactic lectures and hands on experience in clinical practice and hospital rounds. Dr. Ferreira has also served as examiner for the American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology (ACNS).

Carmen I. Ferreira, MD

Dr. Carmen Ferreira has been practicing at PENS since 2005. Her specific areas of clinical interest are ADHD, headaches and autism, however she has treated children with a variety of neurological difficulties. Elizabeth O. Chung, MD

Dr. Chung has been practicing child neurology for more than 20 years. She graduated medical school from the University of the Philippines and completed her pediatric residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She had further training at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh to complete her child neurology fellowship.

Dr. Chung then went on to complete her clinical neurophysiology (EEG) fellowship at the University of Pittsburg Health Sciences Center. Subsequently, she joined the faculty of West Virginia University Medical School where she worked for four years. Prior to her move to Tampa, she was practicing and supervising pediatric residents at the St. Joseph’s Children Hospital in Paterson, New Jersey. She is board certified in pediatrics, pediatric neurology and clinical neurophysiology. She joined Pediatric Epilepsy & Neurology Specialists in 2005.

Dr. Eric Tridas

Dr. Tridas is a Developmental Pediatrician who specializes in the diagnosis and management of handicapping conditions including ADHD, learning differences, dyslexia, autism spectrum disorders, intellectual disabilities and other neurodevelopmental and behavioral problems. He is Clinical Associate Professor in Pediatrics at the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine, a member of the National Joint Committee on Learning disabilities (NJCLD) and Immediate Past President of the International Dyslexia Association. Dr. Tridas is also the State Medical Director for Pediatric Health Choice-Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care Facilities (PPEC). Dr. Tridas is a founder and partner of Tridas, LLC, a software company that developed the Tridas eWriter, an application for web based structured interviews of caregivers and teachers that generates a customized evaluation report and provides hundreds of specific recommendations.

Dr. Tridas has resided in the Tampa Bay area since 1982. He completed his fellowship in Ambulatory Pediatrics with emphasis on Developmental Disabilities at the Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Boston. During that time, he held an appointment as a Teaching Fellow at Harvard University. Dr. Tridas completed his residency in Pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Buffalo. He graduated from the University of Puerto Rico, School of Medicine in 1977.

Dr. Tridas lectures nationally and internationally on topics such as dyslexia, learning disorders, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, anxiety, executive functions and other behavioral and developmental pediatrics related subjects.

Dr. Tridas edited a book for parents titled From ABC to ADHD: What Every Parent Should Know About Dyslexia and Attention Problems.


Dr. Nancy Carnevale

Dr. Carnevale is a board certified Neurodevelopmental Pediatrician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She completed her medical degree at Brown University and an internship and residency in Pediatrics at the University of Connecticut. After practicing general pediatrics for 7 years in rural Massachusetts, she did a fellowship in child development at Rhode Island Hospital, Brown University Medical School. Following her training, Dr. Carnevale served on the staff of the Child Development Center and was a Clinical Assistant Professor at Brown University. Dr. Carnevale has conducted research in the developmental follow-up of premature infants. She has a special interest in gifted children and the primary care of developmentally disabled children.

Dr. Carnevale has resided in the Tampa Bay Area since 2001 and has been with the Tridas Center since 2002. She lectures statewide on topics such as autism spectrum disorders, developmental surveillance of children, ADHD, developmental delays and the impact of genetic disorders in development and behavior.

After furthering her education as a licensed mental health counselor, her interest continues to be working with children, adolescents, and families to assist in improving their family environment. Dr. Saible earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from St. John's University. She specialized in Clinical Neuropsychology, completing her internship at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and her fellowship at Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Saible also completed training at NYU Medical Center, Mt. Sinai Medical Center, and Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Adelene was born and raised in Northwest Indiana and moved to Florida in 2004. She worked as a nurse and certified diabetes educator for 17 years prior to becoming a pediatric nurse practitioner in 2009. She completed her Master’s degree in nursing at University of Central Florida in 2009 and her Doctorate in nursing at the University of Florida in 2012. Adelene has a special interest in education and research. She is a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP). Her goal is to provide patients and their families with the information and skills needed to lead healthy lives. She is happily married with three children.
